Robert De Niro Has a Broadway Re-Awakening With Robin Williams at Bengal Tiger

It’s hard to believe two decades have passed since Robert De Niro and Robin Williams co-starred in the hit movie Awakenings. That Oscar-nominated film showed off Williams’ dramatic acting chops as Dr. Malcolm Sayer, whose patient, Leonard Lowe (De Niro, in an Oscar-nominated performance), awakens from a long coma. Williams is now giving an acclaimed performance as the title feline in Rajiv Joseph’s Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, and De Niro led the ovation after the April 24 matinee. Broadway.com got a Hot Shot of the superstar pals backstage at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Looks like their reunion capped off a very happy Easter!
